SciFi and Fantasy Art: The ArtistFebruary 18, 2005. After the recent Elfwood crash, I am re-uploading this dragon. I can’t remember what I said about him the first time around, so I’ll wing it. This dragon is drawn with pencil, outlined with a Flair pen, and colored with colored pencils. I wanted to dry something new with my dragons, and decided to give this one something to do besides snarling at everyone. He really seems quite pleased with his abstract painting.
This picture is now available on clothing, posters, mugs, mouse pads, and other great items at my online store. I hope you'll check it out! | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 27 Aug 2005 | K. Ficarra | *first comment* if i were a dragon, this would definatly be me! I like the style here, very bold colors and simple line work. Like illustrations from a children's book. Your other art work is amazing as well! Debbie Palmer replies: "Thanks! I'm glad you like him! He was a lot of fun to draw. Oddly, I decided to draw the canvas on the easel before I decided on the dragon. The same thing happened with "Vegetarian," that's also in this gallery. Thanks for visiting! I hope to see you again soon!" | |
| 28 Aug 2005 | Scruffy | Mon Mar 28 2005 I love the whole idea and the beautiful implementation of it. Perhaps the canvas in future work could have a likeness of you the artist as seen by the dragon? Love your imagination.' Debbie Palmer replies: "Replaced comment following the recent Elfwood crash." | |
| 28 Aug 2005 | Victoria 'Ember' Beinhart | Sun Mar 6 2005 'Aw! That's cute. I love your scale patterns, too; they look like the pictures in my really old, long-lost St. George and the Dragon book- without all the gore and negative stereotypes. ^^ You could make tee-shirt designs out of them, or something of the like.' Debbie Palmer replies: "Replaced comment following the recent Elfwood crash." | |
| 28 Aug 2005 | ~~ Dragon lover ~~ | Sat Mar 5 2005 '*does first comment dance* Love the idea! It's nice to see a change to the typical cliche dragon.' Debbie Palmer replies: "Replaced comment following the recent Elfwood crash." | |
| 1 Oct 2005 | Jeffrey W. Bennett | I love pics & artists that don't take everything so seriously. This is a great pic. The dragon looks very well drawn & colored, but the fact that he/she's painting a pic is great. You have a wonderful imagination & put your thoughts down in color very well. I love this dragon! Debbie Palmer replies: "Thank you! I had fun with this one." | |
| 21 Oct 2005 | Audrey Youko.Greywords M. | oh this is just funny! It would be great if he were painting a strange little picture of you! Then it would be you, drawing a dragon, drawing you, drawing a dragon, drawing.......ouch. I think I sprained my brain. Debbie Palmer replies: "Cool! Other people, off Elfwood, have made the same comment." | |
| 15 Apr 2006 | Em | I find the dragon relates to you. He/She loves to draw and paint too! Also, in many of your pics, you include the fact you had fun with them and He/She looks like He/She is having fun! Great pic! Debbie Palmer replies: "Thank you! I think you're right. Except that he's a male dragon (mine all are, unless I specify otherwise), he could be me, in many ways. I have the original hanging in my room, I like it so much." | |
| 8 Sep 2006 | Chris E. Gustad | I like the pic but I love the humor! I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair! Seriously, great pic, I like the scales (as usual) and the colours. Debbie Palmer replies: "Thank you! If it made you laugh, it's all worth it." | |
| 1 May 2008 | Anna *Snotra* Sarwe | What a wonderful thought! A dragon (commonly seen as a product of too much imagination) painting what he makes up with his imagination. Wonder what the products of his imagination are, and what they would paint... | |
